Europa's first self-produced concert in Phoenix, AZ was a benefit for Interfaith Community Ministries at the Unitarian Universalist Congegation on East Lincoln Drive. Billed as the "Valley's Best Kept Secret" the Arizona Republic announced in Friday's paper, "Secret no more...." And the secret is out.

This show was delightfully varied. Connie Marie, director of the group, plays lead violin and opened the show with the haunting bypsy-style "Mistokovo." Connie Fisher sang movingly in Greek, Transylvanian, Spanish & Macedonian-Bulgarian. David Clemons, guitar and sound engineer, Jeff Farias on bass, and Chris McAbee on percussion all added to the energy of the night. They even welcomed various guest artists, includeing the Middleastern Dancer, Naj, and an expanded group of drummers & violinists. Europa's music is an impressive mix of artistic expressiveness and technical matery - meters in 7, 9, and even 15 all flow naturally from this tight-knit group.

Don't miss the next time Europa give a concert.
