caro snatch is the alias of Caroline Churchill, Tyneside's one-woman electronic avalanche. Since unveiling herself as support to The Video Age, Snatch has cast a mysterious spell over those who encounter her. A swirl of activity behind a canon of technology, Churchill emits a stark electro soundtrack around which her eerie echo of a voice utters multi-lingual poems. Like a cyber-punk Debbie Harry, Snatch is sharply empowered by a potent mixture of sureness and shyness, funkiness and furtiveness, hard-hitting bpm's and softly-cushioned sentiments.

It all started back in 1998 with a damaged back, a double-decker bus as a home and a Korg Poly-800 synth. Self-taught, Caroline dedicated herself to the manifestation of her creative expression through sound. And so the category-defying aspects of 'caro snatch' were nurtured.

Re-integrated in the city and back on form, caro shines with her unique style and soul-bearing performance. Armed with a few more machines and a mic, she offers her rhythmically -charged feminine electro sound delivered as live as possible and embellished with cheeky and life-affirming vocals. She is the sequencer. And so dynamic interaction of human and machines takes form, increasingly free-form.

Described as "a one-woman electronic avalanche" caro has received much critical acclaim and performs regularly in Newcastle since her live debut at the back end of 2002. She has also played in Barcelona and appeared at Ladyfest in Manchester. Her first release as part of a compilation is expected to be available in September.

This dynamic woman consistently enchants her audiences with her unique female electric attitude and fundamentally funky repertoire.

It's just the beginning...
